 An endemic tree common in lower montane zone from 1000 to 2000 m elevations. Flowering from September to March and fruiting from June to December.

ගල් වෙරළු[Gal Veralu] (Elaeocarpus coriaceus)

An endemic shrub or small tree of the upper montane zone. Very common in and around Horton Plains National Park from 2220 to 2400 m a.s.l. But also grows as low as 1000 m a.s.l. Flowering from December to February.

වෙරළු[Weralu]/Wild Olive (Elaeocarpus serratus)

A common native tree of wet and intermediate zone forests from lowlands to about 900 m a.s.l. Often cultivated in home gardens for its edible fruits.
